Tirzepatide (Generic Mounjaro®)

Medication Overview

Tirzepatide (Generic Mounjaro®) is a GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonist starting at $49 per week. It mimics the natural hormones GLP-1 and GIP, which help control blood sugar by increasing insulin release, reducing blood sugar output, and slowing digestion. This helps manage blood sugar levels effectively in people with Type 2 diabetes and promotes weightloss.

Dosage starts at 2.5 mg injected weekly. After 4 weeks, your His Health physician may increase the dose to 5 mg weekly. The dose may be further adjusted every 4 weeks as needed, up to a maximum of 15 mg per week.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Common side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, low appetite, vomiting, constipation, and stomach upset. Other effects can be an increased heart rate and injection site reactions.

  • Serious side effects to watch for include severe allergic reactions, dangerously low blood sugar, kidney damage, and pancreatitis. Contact your His Health physician immediately if you experience any of these symptoms.
