Nitrofurantoin Macrocrystal, the generic form of Macrobid®, is an antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by bacteria. It works by interfering with bacterial cell wall synthesis, effectively eliminating the infection. Nitrofurantoin macrocrystal is designed to release the drug slowly, providing a longer duration of action and reducing the frequency of dosing.
